Acacia aneura – Mulga or Yarran Wattle seed x 300 (bulk)

$76.6 $117.2
Description Mulga or Yarran Wattle Acacia aneura This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List A native of all Australian states except Victoria and Tasmania where it prefers light, well-drained soils in an open, sunny position of the dry, inland climates. It is frost and drought-tolerant. An evergreen tree growing to a height and spread of 7 metres; it has several stems with dark, rough bark; the phyllodes (leaves) are greyish-green, narrow to broadly linear and 7 cm long; the flowers are profuse, golden rods appearing late winter to spring depending upon rain; the fruit (pods) appear in attractive, conspicuous bunches. The value of this tree cannot be overstated. The hard heartwood was worked by the Aborigines into boomerangs, digging sticks, spears, and shields and the seeds were ground into flour. A gall produced by the tree was used as a thirst-quencher during ‘walkabout’. Today, it is used as a fodder crop in drought and still provides food, shelter and ornamentation. The dried pod clusters are used in dried flower arrangements and the wood provides ornaments/jewellery. Offered is a packet of  300 seeds complete with Grownotes to assist you in their propagation. All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection. AUSTRALIAN BUYERS. Payment by PayPal is preferred but Direct Deposit is welcome. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS. Payment via PayPal, please. Terms & Conditions.
